Do you really LIKE yourself?

Do you enjoy your own company or do you have to be in the presence of someone else to feel content? I’ve been called more than a few names over the years but being called a “LEADER” and a “LONER” are by far the two biggest compliments that anyone could ever give me.

To me, that says that I am comfortable being alone, I love myself and I’m not a follower! I don’t know how much of my, “being able to stand alone,” stems from my childhood and how much is  actually a personality trait….

Either way, I’m thankful for the beauty of my free spiritedness and the courageousness that lies within my heart!

I’m flawed beyond belief but I’m completely comfortable in the skin that I’m in. And though, I haven’t always had as much confidence as I have now.  I’ve always been strong willed and a bit outspoken. Mainly because, as a child, some adults didn’t show up for me the way I wished they would’ve. But it’s not anyone else’s duty to stand up for me; it’s  MY JOB!

Needless to say, I take the job seriously….

Unfortunately some people say that they love themselves. Yet they can’t physically spend one moment alone. They’re always playing “hopscotch” with people because they never genuinely take the time to sit alone and listen to themselves.

….Always on the phone, always at someone’s house or hosting company at theirs.

…ALWAYS BUSY!

I used to feel the need to be constantly stimulated. I used to feel like I always* had to be doing SOMETHING!

I’m so glad that I outgrew that foolish way of thinking. I want to spend the remainder of my life thriving, loving, laughing and resting!

I love it here!!!

I don’t have to run in a pack to feel safe!

I don’t have to be in a relationship 24/7 to feel secure!

I don’t need a friend to travel!

I don’t need permission to live!

I enjoy my own company and love being in my own space.

I’m so thankful that I love myself; it’s not anyone else’s job to.
